Meet Dr. Cowan

Dr. John Cowan is a neurosurgeon, a small business owner, and a lifelong conservative with ties to the 11th District that go back generations. His family has been part of the Bartow County community since the 1930s — his father serving the community as a physician and his mother as a career schoolteacher. He grew up on his family farm, graduated from Cartersville High School, and has spent decades caring for patients across Georgia’s 11th District.

Beyond the operating room, Dr. Cowan has built and led small businesses that create jobs and serve families throughout the district. John and his wife, Dr. Anne Cowan, are raising four children and are active members of their church, where John serves as an elder.
